me and my dad are looking for some coop plans. it needs to be big enough to house 15-20 chickens and we would like it to be a walk in coop. any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

thanks

I Found that there are a ton of coop designs out there so what I did (Advice Only) is I took the things I liked from this one and that one i.e. roost, feeder's/water's and nesting boxes and I built my own.
I hope this helps you and your dad out.

I used Reclaimed roofing tin and used 2x4's that a friend of mine was taking down from an old shed the roost were made from limbs I have cut down around the yard and allowed to season to be stronger the nesting boxes I got from the back of a store they were milk crates (I asked for them before I took them) They are held up with the 2x4's and a tin roof I ran elec. to it using the wire I got from same friend the Light I put in it (so I can see inside) I got from changing my front porch look from old to new light fixture, the door was from a gate that I had built for my front yard before going with the chain link, the vent hole are covered with Hardware cloth that was given to me by another friend after getting rid a some cages he redid. THE RUN: The post I had from said fence as well as the fence and the other gate that went to the back yard.
So you see I thought of a plan reclaimed alot of things I didn't have and spent (cash wise) maybe 15 dollars for screws that's it may not be the best looking thing on the block but it will fit my girls for sure.

So draw up a plan on paper get the measurements you need from the area and start asking friends and looking around on the internet sites and other places for ideas and reclaimed Mats so you can pick it up for nothing or next to nothing.

Good luck to all DIYers

Wow, I'm so glad I stumbled across this coop design! I'm having one built this week almost identical, but was putting a standard window in it. I like your idea much better for ventilation. Thank you for sharing.
