looking for wormy poop photos...

Sorry that this post is so gross but I'm paranoid that some of my hens may have worms

I check their poop everyday before scooping it away into the compost pail and have recently noticed a couple of poops that had a very long, stretchy, white opaque "flat string" in them - what the heck?? chicken tapeworm?

I've never had to deal with worms before (and I have 3 dogs), I tried to find photos online to no avail.

Help?

the only wormy poop they show is all frothy.

Look at the very last pic on that page that Tipsy gave you the link for. That's the worm pic. The description below it, 'Sulphur yellow, foamy dropping' I think belongs with the pic above the last one.

yes, i saw that... however do all wormy poops look exactly like that?

you can't even see worms in there - yet people say they "see" worms on and in poops...

and what do those look like?

i guess that's my question...

i just googled and apparently there is no such thing as a 6" long stringy worm in poop?

There are long white worms in poop. Tape worms are segmented you usually only see short segments, like undulating rice.

of course it made me ill but I had to look to know...

does not look like the things i found in a couple of poops, whew! i'm probably paranoid but will worm the whole flock anyways, i don't want to take any chances. none of my 16 birds have ever been wormed and some are 1.5 years old!
