I am wanting just a few chickens for our personal eggs. I love the Wyandottes but am having a hard time finding any. I was told not to order from hatcheries???? I am willing to drive if I find a breeder in Florida. Any info would be appreciated.Thanks.....

I have been happy with the Golden Laced Wyandottes I bought at our feed store, which came from Mt. Healthy Hatchery. They are not for show or breeding, only for our pleasure, because they are beautiful, and the eggs. You might get MORE beautiful ones from a reputable breeder, if that is what you want.

I bought Golden laced from Cackle Hatchery and have also gotten good results. It all depends on what you want them for. If it is for showing then buy from a breeder. If it is for laying eggs and backyard chickens then nothing is wrong with hatchery stock.

Although I don't have any Wyandottes, I do have a lot of other purebred young laying hens for sale in western West Palm Beach, FL. I'm not a breeder, these are from hatchery stock I raised. They're from 12-20 weeks old. I have:

Rhode Island Red
NH Red
Red Sex-link
Ameracauna
Buff Orpington
White Rock
White Jersey Giant
Silver Phoenix
Black Austrolorp

Please contact me if you're interested, thank you!
