Looking Into Getting An Incubator. What would you recommend?

Hi Everyone! I am been putting it off and putting if off and I think I am ready to buy an incubator.

Now I have never done anything with an incubator and I am not sure what is a good one on or what I need to do once I get it or even how to turn it on unless it has the writing on it "turn on here" I dont mean to sound like a twit, but I really want to make sure I do this all right the first time and dont wast any time or money doing it wrong.

I dont need anything massive - I just want to see what I can do with one. I need one that will fit goose eggs in it. Should I get one with a turner? If not how do u turn them? How often? How far do u turn them?

I found this on ebay and was going to bid right away, but I thought to myself - "how do u know this is a good price and it is what you are looking for". So I decided to post up here since EVERYONE has been so great with all of my questions including some really dumb ones..LOL.

Any who - here is the link from ebay - I dont believe this comes with a turner. Would u recommend I get one?

Do u think this will work for what I want? I do want a brand new one.. so is this a good price for one? Shipping is only $15.00 so it looks to be around 50 or so dollars.

Still Air incubators are okay...but I love my two turbo fan models. One is a Little Giant the other is a Hova-bator like the one you are looking at. I ended up buying the same model hova you have there in the link but ended up later buying a turbo fan kit for it. And boy am I glad I did!!!
Pay the extra bucks get a turbo fan model

Hi, I just hatched my first hatch with an incubator the last 2 days. I hatched 18 out of 20. I borrowed an incubator from a friend. Its a hova-Bator circulated air model 2362N. I turned them by hand about every eight hours for the first 2 weeks then 3 times a day after that. They hatched 2 days before I thought they were going to so I turned them up till the night before they started hatching. I candled them every few days just to keep track. I even had the power off to it when my daughter accidently unplugged it for 2 hours. And by some miracle my hatch was 18 out of 20. But let me tell you make sure you get one with a plastic liner cause the mess i had to clean up was awful. I washed and bleached it out after hatch was finished. Good luck with your future hatching.

here's my 2 cents. I started with a hova bator still air styrofoam incubator with turner that I bought for $8 at a yard sale. I loved it so much that I now own 2 gqf Sportsman incubators and 1 gqf Sportsman hatcher. Whew, they hold 300 eggs each. I still use the little styrofoam one too. I have had no trouble with the still air incubator but DEFINATELY get a turner. You just set it and forget it til day 18. Go for it, you will be hooked for life!!! On the still air incubators you just have to set the temp a little higher is all.

Forgot to add...I kept my temp right on 100degrees and humidity between 50-55%. Bought a $6 hygrometer at wal-mart and it done great. I used the thermometer that come with it though. The temp don't adjust fast enough on the hygrometer. But my hatch was great.
