Hello! I had two Muscovy ducks show up at my house a couple months ago at my patio door. They were two black and white and I believe one female and one a drake. They pretty much became our pets and we love them. We live out of the city limits in a nice country setting on the river so they come and go as they please. My boys can call them in off of the river to feed them a treat. They are the best ducks and we can even pet them. The one I think is a drake has gone missing for over a week now. I think maybe something happened to him since the other one is kind of leery of coming up to the house now. My boys and I are heart broken and we would love to have a couple more ducks if I can find any. We live near Charleston, WV and I can't seem to find any for sale in our area. Does anyone know where I can get Muscovy's for sale? Please help

Ricky is on the right and Lucy is on the left. I'm not sure why it keeps rotating my picture this way.

Thanks,

Chasity

Hi, check with craigslist Charleston or Huntington and see what you find. Also, what river do you live near? Just curious as I have been on them all in Kanawha county and through out WV. My favorite state!

Thanks I'll check Craigslist. I've looked at our local feed store but no one seems to raise these close by. We live on the Coal river. I've lived on the Coal most of my life and love it :)

There used to be a canoe outfit on the Coal and you had to walk across a swinging bridge to get to their place. I've rented canoes there in the past, but that was 20+ years ago. Beautiful scenic little river. I bought a canoe from them too, a red Old Town Discovery.

Actually now there's a place out Tornado called the Coal River Group where you can rent kayaks and canoes to take down the Coal river. We also have a Tour de Coal event every June where everyone "floats" down on their kayaks, canoes, and non motorized boats. We have probably hundreds of people paddling by our house during the Tour de Coal. It's a fantastic event. You should check it out :)

Thanks so much for the info. Lucy is still hanging around solo and stops by the house every day for a treat. The only call we use is my son standing on the back deck and yelling "Lucy come here!" If she's close by she will swim right up to the bank and come waddling up our backyard. Her favorite treat is Cheerios :)

I hope she sticks around through winter. Any advice on doing anything to help her cope through winter? What about a roosting box or something to keep her warm?

There is a guy in Ga he sales Muscovy ducks I went there last week to his farm he had about a hundred to choose from. He was a very nice guy they were 20 a piece. His name was Bryan his number was 770 601 1108.
