Looking to Rescue Hens from egg factories

Hi,

I am looking to add some battery hens to my flock. I would love to know of any place near Pennsylvania that I could do this.

Unfortunately, adoptable ex-battery hens are really hard to find in this area. All the ex-batts I’ve found were either in California or TONS for adoption in the UK. So I recommend reaching out to shelters and having LOTS of patience. Good luck!

Why not go to one of these farms and ask? They must rotate out there flock regularly. I’m sure they sell the older hens but to who is the question!?

Factory farms will sell you spent laying hens. I’ve heard that spent hens go for $2-$3 each and that hens still laying go for $10-$12.
