In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is my first flock. I used to help my parents with theirs after they retired .
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We want to have 4 to 6 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I've worked with Rhode Island reds and Bantams.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love fresh eggs, especially when they can free range some to get greens and bugs, etc. I enjoy watching them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Beekeeping and gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 2 Tibetan Mastiffs, 3 Maine Coons, and 3 rescue cats. I am a disabled veteran and my wife is retired. We are both senior citizens. I used to be a Systems Programmer in the IT department at North Carolina State University.
