I was hanging with my girls today and noticed this rash on one of the girls two front legs. Also noticed she’s had her tail tucked under and one spot of the rash looks somewhat fresh and bloody. It’s just on her front two legs and I’ve notice she’s had her tail tucked under all morning. Does anyone know what this is could be. This is only on my one girl. She ate and drink this morning and last night just fine and her droppings looked normal

Is it wet where you are at? I used to have a Nubian who would get that every spring, I assume because his feet were wet often. I personally treated it with bluekote, applying it every few days and it always cleared up in a few weeks.

Another option is life or mites, so you can also treat with ivomec. We use the cattle plus one, and dose orally, 1ml per 35 pound.

Very very wet. The wettest year on record in va since they started recording in 1840 something. I had a feeling had to do with moisture. Already caused other problems through the year. I have blu kote ... does it sting? I would think mites but it’s all just bottoms of the legs and it’s only her. The other 3 legs look fine

I think it's similar to rain rot which horses can get in a wet climate. I never noticed that the bluekote would sting, though it's been a few years since I had my Nubian. Bluekote is good for treating fungal infections which I believe that is. I find it strange that only my Nubian would have the same problem yearly and all my other goats didn't. So it's interesting yours has Nubian in it.

I would try the bluekote. It should help, otherwise you may have to ask a vet. Good luck.

I’ll start with blu kote first thing tomorrow. 3 of my young ones are a mix with Nubian. Maybe just more sensitive skin. Whatever the reason if blu kote could help I will definitely try it. We had to treat mama for hoof rot/scald earlier in the year cause of the excessive moisture I’ve never hated rain this much. Another few inches expected tomorrow :(

Do they have raised platforms? Or can you get them to higher ground? Wet ground and goats is a pain. Worms and cocidia will thrive too in wet ground.

Weather this year sure has been messed up. We currently are getting rain too, which is very unusual here. Usually it would be a blizzard, but not so much in the last decade or so.

We’ve built walkways in heavy mud areas. Mostly exits and entrances after dealing with hoof rot Their shelter is raised with wood floor. But she’s young and of course is loves to be out and about. It probably would be worse otherwise. We definitely do preventative worming in spring and late fall. Normal wet seasons but this year every season is a wet season. I was wondering if I should wrap her leg so she doesn’t mess with the blu kote. Or is it non toxic. Knowing this girl she’s gonna wanna know what it tastes like. Probably won’t last long because I’m sure it tastes terrible

No need to wrap, it does have a horrible taste from what I've seen. Worse case scenario is she has blue lips. Be careful you don't get it on your clothes as it doesn't really come out in the wash. Hands generally a few minutes scrubbing with dish soap usually works.

yhe Blu kote didn’t work out. Not because it didn’t work it’s that it was so much moisture and having her stay still long enough for it to dry was not working out ( the most on the go crazy one I’ve got ) everyone had a bit of blu. Especially mama. Was funny but maybe not as an ongoing treatment for my situation. I went and got a spray today. The blu kote has the same meds for the infection so would work good for calmer girls lol. Luckily was only $6.00 so super score. Thank you so much. I feel for the poor girl that can’t feel good
