Haven't you learned anything yet? You're never supposed to put your incubator away!

Sorry folks, those eggs got sold about three minutes after they were posted. Anyone wants my crazy leftovers on Saturday batches, PM me and I will keep a list. There is no way to eat/hatch/sell/feed/trade/pickle every single egg laid. I got some killer diller chickens and just feel a little bit bad every weekend when I put them in the big pot of boiling water... Would rather make someone smile really big and take a twenty of their hands instead.

Leftover eggs will vary, and I am thinking $1/egg for "striaght run" (everything available) and $2/egg for cherry picking only the ones you want.

I am sure these are Lolaks siblings. I am now up to 3 total. One of mine (the only one I had to throw in that day) and two from shipped eggs. There were 5 I opened this morning. 3 partially developed quitters, 1 died before breaking into the air cell and the other one was alive, just stuck. So now I have 2 chicks at $17.50 a piece! Twice as nice.

Welp looks like I have one $45 white silkie. This is just going by the cost of these eggs, not adding up all the other eggs. One never pipped the aircell and was dead inside the egg. Two appeared to have quit at about day 16, and one was a long time quitter that just didn't candle well.

So now I have one $45 silkie. And no buffs

, I wanted buffs so badly! I'll not add in the cost of the $31 silkie eggs that resulted in nada. Or the show-chins.. of the one egg that developed it never hatched either, when I opened it, it appeared to have crossbeak so it probably wouldn't have made it either.

So now I have one lonely chick, and she needs a real expensive name. I gave her a toy cat to lay on, and she's way too little to put with the 3 weekers. So what to do with her?

Name her Hope, after the Hope Diamond. Sorry about the Show-Chin eggs. Let me know if you want to try again. I will ship you some eggs at my expense. I would really like to see a show-chin, but not badly enough to try in my bator. Too hot down here right now.

It's ok on the showchins, those were just a lark. I thought it would be fun. I don't know what happened there, just no development on any but the one. Could have gotten xrayed.

The silkies are the serious business. Trying to build a nice collection. So DD can show them. So I've been ordering some expensive eggs (well expensive to me).

Boy, and I thought I was the only one spending way to much on chickens. It would help if people made sure their chickens were doing the deed before offering to sell the eggs for hatching.

I get so excited when my eggs arrive, I take the time to mark and set them....then wait 7 long days to candle and see whats cooking inside only to find........a clear egg!

MAKES ME MAD ENOUGH TO SPIT NAILS!!!

I checked my show chin eggs before I sent them. Cracked all the eggs open for a couple days and PM'd back and forth. There was always one blank but the rest were good. Buyer knew the results of the fertility checks. I can't wait for it to cool down so I can hatch some of the eggs I have been selling cheap and feeding to the dogs...

Why is it always the expensive ones?

I had $50 eggs right next to $5 eggs and the expensive ones tanked and the cheap ones flourished
