We were surprised with our first egg this morning. My oldest daughter found it.

Of course she said she wanted to hatch it. I told her no we will eat it.

So far my girl is laying one a day!
This mornings was very interesting. Instead of all the spots it was almost stripped!

Mine are really starting to put out some eggs. I collected 4 so far today

Still unsure what my ratio is, but I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of 4 or 5 boys, 10 girls. They're A&M's, so it can be difficult to tell which one you just saw crow, LOL. I'm currently working on marking them, and then I'll decide who to keep, before birds start going bald

Aren't their eggs just beautiful though? I got one today that was green with fine speckles. We've got more chicken eggs than we can eat, and no working incubators. Sooo my lovely stash of 30 coturnix eggs will be blown out or dried out for art purposes. Just need to figure out for what art purposes that will be

I don't have a incubator either.

Hmmm art project, how about making mini nests and puting them into spring wreaths?

Awesome! Mine just turned 3 weeks old. How much longer for eggs do you think? no crowing yet..
