Hi, not having much fun with my inucbating and hatching, it's my first time and my first egg hatched 4 days prematurely and then sadly died yesterday. The other eggs are due today, one has a loose airsac, so I was told to pop it in an egg carton fat end up so that it is in the correct position, so I did, then yesterday it looked like it had shrunk , I took it out to check it over today and see that now it has a loose airsac at one end and a fixed one at the wrong end! What do I do now?

There is nothing you can do except quit messing with the eggs. Put them fat side up in the carton, turn up the humidity, don't open the incubator and wait.

They will...or they won't and intervening does nothing but worsen the situation.

I speak from experience

Ok, so I shouldn't let the loose sac meet up with the fixed sac at the narrow end then?

No. It's too late for that. If you have loose aircells when you first put the eggs in the incubator, then you will want to be sure and set them fat side up for the duration of the incubation. If you will avoid turning them for the first 2-3 days of incubation, it seems the aircell "sets" better.

Hi, Sadly that duckling turned out to be dead in shell, but with lots of advice I've found out that my humidity was too high

hard lesson learned, but hopefully the next 5 will be ok, thanks for your advice x
