I read a post ealier today and it said two ways to tell if your hens will lay soon are "rooster red" combs and loose vents. Well I went out and checked. Three of my seven hens had really loose vents where i could see down into them.(i know, it's gross). Anyway, if the loose vent theory is correct, then my girls should be laying soon. My question is, when is "soon"? A week? Two weeks? Days?
