Clean vent, gritty egg

Hi y'all,
I have 1 hen of 8 that's been laying a gritty (lack of a better term) egg for about 2 weeks now. Just one end of the egg is gritty (the speckles are grit. And they're not moving.) I have 8 clean vents, though I've done no probing inside a vent. Today's egg has the added feature of striations and a flourish at the top end.
I have read the informative and well written article about egg quality posted. Mostly I am curious about the grit; but I keep reading about "excessive calcium" as a problem, it's just I'm not sure how much is too much.
I have flaked oyster shells available, I feed Tucker Milling Non GMO 16.5% layer feed. I have been giving watermelon and frozen peas/corn/blueberries with a light dusting of calcium powder (powder only every 2 days) for about 2 weeks.
All other eggs normal. Production down to 4 or 5 daily from 8. But it's hotter than hades outside too.
Thanks!

With layer feed and oyster shell on the side there's no reason to be adding extra calcium (that they can't avoid) on top of treats as well.

Layer feed alone contains enough calcium to meet the needs of an average hen.

Egg looks a little wonky but not enough that it'd concern me at this point.

Thank you! I was having thin shell problems and added the powdered calcium. I'll forgo the calcium!

If you find you still have thin eggshells after ditching the powdered calcium, see if you can at least narrow down the likely suspects. Might be easy or hard, depending on how well you can match eggs to hens, but it'd be better for the health of the group as a whole for only birds who need it to receive extra supplementing like that.
