My frizzle rooster has been loosing tail feathers and seems to have broken feathers on his shoulders and sides. He will be a year old in next month. I do not think he is moulting. The strange part is, when I spread his wings out, he only has quills showing with no feathers on them. I have dusted him with diatomaceous earth powder, but I do not seee mites. I do have another rooster that I have seen chase him, but they free range a good part of the day and he seems to always get away from him. I have had my hens go through their moult, but never saw the quill bare without feathers on them. Does anyone know what this could be?
