Loosing feed

My four ladies waste so much feed and do not seem to pick it up from the ground once it’s there. Do I need a different kind of feeder? What kind would limit this problem!

. I’m feeding crumbles, a hanger maybe not quite chest high, two are about 1 1/2 years, two are about one year

Crumbles are the WORST! If they can handle it, try pellets, much less mess.

A pic of the feeder would help, there are many kinds out there.

After much dinking around, this has seriously minimized billing out of crumble.

There are couple newish commercial feeders that are fairly good.
Look for something with a horizontal lip around the outer edge of trough that prevents billing out.

Crumbles are the WORST! If they can handle it, try pellets, much less mess.

Good to know. I had always heard to go with crumbles. I’ll switch.

Just be sure they are able to handle the pellets. If they are little there's no way around the crumbles.
