losing feathers, has dry skin, dry nub whats happening?

I have a black gold chicken hen about 6 years old. She has frizzled wing feathers and dry skin, pin feathers sticking out of her stomach and wings, and a dry skin nub at base of tail losing feathers. What is wrong?

It sounds like she is having a big molt, and her preen/oil gland at the base of her tail is visible. Other birds can pick out feathers as well if they are bullying her or bored.

She’s not being cooperative this morning

I can’t catch her again yet and one of the other hens is laying so it may be a bit before I can catch her in the coop
