Losing feathers

I have 6 chicks all just shy of 18 weeks and some of them are losing large feathers. None have layed eggs yet, is this normal or are they lacking something in their diet? They are being fed medicated chick starter, cracked corn, bread, some fruits and vegies and whatever they find in the yard when they are out of the run.
I am new to this so any help I can get is appreciated

I am new to this also, so you may want to wait for other advice!
Chickens go through a juvenile molt, and maybe that is what is happening. I remember being concerned about piles of feathers that appeared.

I took my chickens off of chick starter around 6 weeks, and switched them to a grower feed. I don't know if it matters.
