Here is a picture of Lil Bit from this weekend...her fur/feathers are changing colors and falling out...none of the other ducklings have done this...but she is my odd lil duck so nothing surprises me with her. She’s still really small, but she is growing finally. Still not sure what type of duckling she is though...any ideas??

Did she look like this when a tiny one?

MallardDuckling.jpg
If so possibly Mallard. Especially if smaller than the rest of your ducks.
She did, she was brown and the others that we got the same day was darker, almost black. The first two pictures are the day we got her and then the day after (3-17-18). The 3rd picture was taken on 3-23-18 the duckling next to her was supposed to have been born at the same time as her and it’s twice the size as her. She was the smallest of the bunch we bought that day.

At some point all of your ducks will start to loose that soft fluff and grow their adult feathers. Ducks and chicks can look pretty rough for awhile during this phase with some fluff and some real feathers and some prickly patches and some bare spots. They don't always grow in their feathers evenly and beautifully at first. I had one chicken that looked nearly bald and tailless for nearly a month but the rest of her feathers were growing in fine. Since she is the littlest, keep an eye on her and make sure no one is picking on her.

I actually went and bought her some more duckling friends a week later that was about a week old, she was way to little to keep her with the original batch we bought and she was still smaller than the ones I got that following week. She seems to actually be the leader, when she gets up almost all of them get up to follow her.

They are so adorable she must have been quite a bit younger looking at the pics.
You can barely see her, she is in between the khaki Campbell and the other mallard possibly or maybe Rouen not sure but that is the hatchery batch she came in with.

My littlest chicken has never been at the bottom of the pecking order. Even once she was separated due to illness and had to be returned, the others that had outgrown her actually took care of her. I would check in the coop at night and she would be tucked under the wing of one of the biggest chickens!

I'm glad you got her some friends and she's fitting in!

I did have her with two from the first batch but they picked on her and I didn't want her to be alone, I had to do something because so I brought her back to Missouri and got her a couple of friends. She's been doing pretty good with them. They all seem to get along pretty good. I think we do have one bully out of the bunch though lol

Can someone tell me if this is the right Brewers yeast to buy??? Also what type and brand of Niacin do y’all use...possibly post a picture so I can make sure I get the right stuff. They now have an automatic waterer so I want to make sure they are getting everything that they need.
