Mallard colored Indian Runner duck with darker feathering.

Howdy! I am just beginning to breed Indian Runner Ducks and I still have a lot to learn about color genetics. For the second time I have gotten a duckling with darker feathers and penciling than the others. In all honesty this duck may not be purebred like the others, but really my question is, what causes the darker coloration? I read about dusky and light phase and dark phase but none of it seems to address this. She is beautiful Attached a pic!

I have some darker Mallard colored Dutch Hookbills. I know mine are split with dusky. I am thinking that might be what causes it. Could yours have gotten dusky from either parent?
