LOSING MY HOSTAS!

Can anyone tell me if they have any success from stopping chickens from eating Hostas.

No, Last year I had beautiful big Hostas this year they have been devoured by my chickens. Guess it is the price I pay letting them free range. My dh calls the yard the dead zone.

De fence is your only defense! I put up those little green wire fences around my garden beds. Works for the most part, but sometimes they get ambitious and find their way over. The vegetable garden has 4-foot bird netting around it, and that seems to be enough to make them move along. There's enough interesting stuff in the rest of the yard that jumping over fences is more work than they're up for.
