Gladys was special, she had a cross beak so she needed special care. She had her own coop and small pen and when let out would go to visit the other birds but always came when called. My hubby acts like he hates chickens but I know he didn't hate Gladys, he would let her jump into his lap. She loved to be next to him. I let her out one too many times and a fox got her. I do curse myself for not leaving her in her pen that day while I was occupied but I always knew it was a risk. I don't usually name my birds but most of the males do so I can tell them apart for breeding. Wallace, Shemp, etc. I did name my two White Leghorn escape artists, Houdini-1 and Houdini-2.
