loss of head feathers????

I have 4 girls, one light Brahma. the last few days I have noticed her feathers in the coop, the run and the free range area. Her head feathers appear to be thinning out. I have not seen any other girl pecking at her, but then I am not with them 24/7. All my hens are 10 months old. Could she be molting? Also some of her white feathers are yellowing. Any ideas?

Can you post pictures? Sometimes pullets can go through a partial molt. I'm not sure about the yellowing feathers, what do you feed them?

I dont have any pics but perhaps I could take a few. I feed them layer food but also corn, scrambled eggs shell included, fresh greens,occasionally blueberries all organic vegies. I have not noticed any change in her behaviour except she appears to shake her feathers more and in doing so a few fly lose.

Sounds like molting. My coop looks like they had a pills fight every night, these days.

Thanks for the input. I thought molting happens when they reach 16 months of age. I guess its happening now for this girl.

Well, that would be a full adult molt, but during their first fall/winter....

Sometimes pullets can go through a partial molt.
