Ok, have set a trap, baited with the rest of the duck carcass from last night. I am positive it will be back for it tonight...it picked the other one clean and there's still a lot of meat left on this one. (My poor Milly duck

)

Well I checked the trap.
The cheeky thing had tried to pull bits of the carcass through the mesh and in doing so the trap door shut...so nothing in the trap...
Will try again tonight...

Try putting one side up against something and put a few goodies at and around the entrance to lure it in.

Ok will do.
I have backed it into a bucket so it can't grab at the carcass from the sides.

Stupid question: If I do catch it, we only have a 12 gauge shotgun, so do I let it out to shoot it - surely shooting it in there would blow the thing apart - ?
(When I say I, I mean my husband, because I'm not doing it!!!)
