On April 14th I bought three bantam chicks, 2 OEG and 1 Porcelain D'uccle. A few days later, the OEG chicks grew their wing feathers, but the D'uccle didn't. April 18th, it wasn't eating or drinking as much as the others and then it passed away during the night.
A few weeks later on April 27th, I was at the farm store and saw that they had 1 porcelain and 1 mille fleur D'uccle. I really wanted a porcelain, so I bought them both. The porcelain was as active as the the mille fleur, but it preferred to stay under the heat more and chirped loudly when it wasn't directly under the heat (kept between 88 - 92F). Also the mille fleur grew wing feathers and started to get its tail feathers, while the porcelain still hadn't changed much.
Three days ago it seemed to be slower, wanted to sleep more and had pasty butt, so I gave it some sav-a-chick probiotics and electrolytes and cleaned its butt. It seemed to help, because yesterday it was running and acting like the other chick and the pasty butt was better. Today, it was back to sleeping more, wanting to be under the heat and had bad pasty butt. I cleaned the pasty butt, gave fresh sav-a-chick, and fed it cooked egg yolk. It ate and drank a little and went back to chirping loudly until it fell asleep. All day it either slept or followed the other chicks trying to snuggle to get warm. A few hours ago, I noticed it was having trouble standing and knew it wasn't going to be good. I picked it up and its poop was mostly white powder-like. It didn't make it.
All my other chicks seem fine, their growing feathers, their poops are normal, and they eat, drink, play, and sleep normal. Could it have been genetic or a disease?
