Lost 6 chickens in less than a week.

This is getting old. I lost 2 more last night inside the coop, they tore a hole through the door. It was about 2:14 this morning. The camera snapped pictures but thier wasn't anything on it.

What ever this animal is, I have now declared unrestricted Warfare on it!!!!


First will be to add a lot more wire to the coop,
Second, I will setting up the trap this morning.
Third, I will be replacing the 00 Buck with bird shot in the 12 Gauge.

Fourth, I will buying more today to replace the ones I lost.

I have lost half my flock in less than a week.

Sounds like you`re using chicken wire. Most any kind of wire fencing is superior to chicken wire in keeping predators out. Bait your trap with a couple whole eggs. That way you won`t have to bait it again tomorrow or deal with ants. Eggs will last a month before replacement and most predators will go for an easy meal before tearing through wire. Whatever it was climbed the fence and tore through the door. The door is an old storm door, it had plastic screen wire and they tore through that and broke the latch at the bottom of the sliding window.

My Chickens didn't want to roast in the coop tonight, instead thy wanted to roast on top the fence.
