2 colored Seb babies that I loved, their first night out, just slaughtered, not eaten. 4 Aussie Spots, I have one left that was inside in the basement because he got cold. My last Silky duck and a grown chocolate bibbed call. Add to that I've lost a grey call to a predator and a silky duck and another young Aussie Spot. Those three just disappeared. Last night's predator ate three and just killed the rest. Snapped the necks of the geese and ate a little around the necks. Looks the only full grown was his main meal. Ate most of the neck and guts.
I cried a long time-such a set back; I was so attached to the little geese and they were so friendly and lovely. My daddy went out there and cleaned it up. It's been a rough week, in addition, I lost 2 little Speckled Sussex this morning and 5 little pastel and buff calls and a black east indie this last week to unknown reasons. It looks like I might lose another silver apricot baby; I've got him in my lap. I got 5 silky duck eggs this week that are duds, and I've got 5 more from a different source that none hatched from last time. I've lost a total of 19 ducks in the last week. Daddy was thinking a weasel, but then changed to a racoon, but I don't know if racoons go on killing sprees? We found two turds about 1.5" long and the width of my finger.
Sigh. A whole lot of time, money and affection just...gone. I went out this morning and knew something was wrong when they didnt run to the end of their shelter like usual, I peered in and saw one of my geese laid there with blood on its chest. I ran inside because I couldn't look and got daddy. It just makes me want to quit. I waited this long to post because I was upset. Im going to wait up tonight with a .22 and hope he comes around again.
So, it ate three and snapped the necks of the other 6, biting them and maybe licking some blood and eating a little of the neck of some. It's main meal was on my grown call of the guts. Stripped a lot fo feaethers. Two turds 1.5" long and the width of a finger. Who will I see tonight?

Oh man, that's rough. Maybe a coyote? Coyotes are in every county in NC. Wasn't that way 10 years ago. Could be a coon or a fox. Was there seeds in the poop? Fur?

You have to be proactive. Keep traps out there before stuff happens. I feel for ya.
