I know chick can just pass for lots of reasons, but this was so sudden, I have a mama chicken who hatched out 7 of 7 eggs. She is a great mother and cares very deeply for all her baby's. They are just turning three weeks old are were all so healthy eating well drinking even the runt was doing great. The mama goes in her own house at night with her baby's and is aloud to be supervised free range with the chicks during the day now that they don't need as much heat and I live in the south were it's is above 85 every day. This morning I found one chick dead in the house one of the older ones. No sign of anything but the chick was a little sprawled out not in like a sleeping position. Any ideas I'm worried about the others?

If only one died and the other 6 are ok, I think the one just ate something he should not have.
I had a perfectly healthy adult goose once just die for no apparent reason. And an old sage neighbor of mine told me that she had geese die from bee stings. The geese would eat the bee and die because it stung them inside the throat. Not sure about that wisdom, but i respect my elders!
Sorry about the loss of your chick. I hope you dont loose any more.

I also had one die unexpectedly at about 12 days. Big healthy looking girl too. The brooder is a bit crowded but she wasn’t in a corner, just right in the middle sprawled out. She got a proper burial. Moving out to tractors this weekend.
