last night, my almost 4 year old son got into the brooder box and knocked over one of the perches, one of my silkie chicks, (4 week old buff) was hit by it and passed away quickly after. my son was tramatized as well as my 8 year old daughter. they had named the chick "Tiny" as when we got "him" he was the smallest of eight. we told my son that it was an accident and not his fault. im just feeling bummed now as this is my very first set of chicks ever and i had not lost any, all are very healthy.
