Lost a chicken today

Hello everyone
I had to have my Henrietta put down today. I thought she might be able to carry one after Harriet went but I think she was too damaged inside and she declined rapidly in the last few days.
The vet reassured me that it was not my fault but I think my newness to keeping chickens did not help. I have learned a lot from the lovely people who post on this site and I think I will be more aware of changes in my chickens and hopefully avoid the mistakes I have made so far. I will get another companion for Hortense , my remaining, chicken and carry on in hope!
