Lost a poult today...

Hey guys today I lost one of the three newly hatched birds.All of them were roughly a week old.

Lemme tell you the story:

When it firstly hatched it could not stand up for a day.I was not really concerned because I thought it was tired.After a day or two he started walking.Well, he was not the best walker in town because he somehow crossed his legs everytime he was walking.Like a model or something.He also could not stretch.You know, stretch one leg and spread the wing feathers.He could not do that because he would fall down every time he tried it.

He was getting better by the day until...

Today I saw that he was really sleepy.At one point he fall asleep and when I picked him up he was not opening his eyes.He was just peeping.

I knew this was the end and truly after an hour or so he died.

Can someone possibly explain what happened to him?

I thought that he needed more calcium so I gave him milk and more marble powder.


Sorry for using "he". It sounds better.

Well,I guess it is better that he died.I dont really want sick looking birds in my flock.I did my best though.


So, please an explanation?

The hen that laid the egg could be malnutriented-- not sure how to spell--
give her baby vitamins and measure it to her weight
that could be it
