He is looking rough I know.
I have no experience with chickens or turkeys but here's my story. I went to Cal ranch and saw a bird at the bottom of the cage getting stepped on and look like he was going to die. I asked if they could take him out and separate him and basically they told me no. I ended up buying him just to get him out. The manager gave me two and said that they couldn't be alone without a companion so he didn't charge me for the sick one. I've had him a little over a month now. I've spent over $2500 keeping him alive but man was he worth it lol. Coccidiosis, wry neck, respiratory infection, malnourished, and completely vitamin deficient. He's doing better! Had to go in an oxygen box for a while at the vet and get fluids over the weekend. His companion ended up being a rooster
just my luck!! But I'm wondering if anyone knows what gender he/she might be. After learning a lot on these Facebook groups I realized that strutting was also a female behavior. He doesn't do it very often. Maybe every 3 days. He does go after the rooster if he gets picked on too much and decides enough is enough. (The rooster has 2 ladies now) Billiam is in a separate pin. He was in an assorted cage. There was four. different types he could have been and it was bourbon red, slate, abd royal palm.. there was another breed but I can't remember. Assuming a royal palm. I'm not 100% sure what age is because I don't think they knew what they were talking about considering they were feeding him chick food and gave me a chicken on accident. But I have had him for about 6 weeks. I'm really hoping soon I can find out if he is male or female. Thanks!!!!!
