Intro

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow

We have a border collie, now about 11 years old. When we brought her out here when she was around 2, she naturally understood her job. The only thing, she won't herd them for me. She's stood up to a bear, chased off fox, raccoons, and coyotes, but when I need help getting them back from the farmer's field, I'm on my own lol.

We're glad you're here!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens!
Peace in the flock is ideal. 😊
It's so comforting to know if we go away and they are confined to their coop run for a few days, that they're are all happy and able to go about their day fairly normally (although realistically probably very mad that the door has not been opened for them to free range 😅) and no one gets picked on.

Welcome in! I can understanding holding at the six and not wanting to rock the boat. Would love to see pictures of the flock, if you're willing to share!
My phone just went flat, but tomorrow I'll be glad to share my girls instead of forcing non-chicken people to look at them 😅

I'm actually mortified, could this be normal? I have been swamped the past week with placement for uni and assessments, but I see the girls at least once a day, and Martha has gone alarmingly bald within 48 hours! No cute flock photos 😭

(she has her head in a rockmelon in the first one)
And it will likely come as no surprise that my silkie is MIA currently trying to hatch some air 😏
