My kids each got 2 chicks for easter, 8 chicks total. I've spent the last 8 weeks raising them from 1 week old
I guess I have gotten more attached than than I thought.
While I was cooking brunch this morning and going back and forth to the grill out back.
I hear my oldest yell for one of our dogs to stop.
I look over and see a pullet nearly the size of her in front of her limp.
The owner of that pullet my 6 yr old son runs outside to see what all the commotion is about, I was really hoping the pullet would be OK maybe just playing dead.
Sadly its neck was snapped so while it was quick it gave no solace to my teary eyed 6 yr old, who is now short one GL wyandotte.
I cried even more than him....
At this point we still have a coop for 8 do I try to replace the pullet? as I hear it is harder to do when the chicks grow up.
