Lost a Rooster Today - Graphic!

Sorry to hear about your hen, but glad she survived this. Sounds like your only options are to keep the hens confined unless you can be out there with them, until you can build them a run. Otherwise, let them out and take your chances.... can you provide them shelters and bits of cover when they are out? We screwed sheets of corrugated roofing material onto sawhorses, leaned pallets against each other into A-frames, put out old tables, etc. Makes the run look like a junkyard but it helps. Im just now seeing this sorry for the loss I have no added speculation on the culprit but if you want a roo that isn't a jerk I have roos in excess and am planning a cull soonish if you want to come check em out your welcome to pm me Im only a couple of hours north of ST. Louis. The roo would be free. Think we have a buff orpington and a silver lace wyandott possibly a rhoad island red. been a minute since I watered them the big birds are mostly my wifes operation.
