One of my roosters became sick yesterday. I treated him yesterday and he improved. Unfortunately, he died this morning. When I found him he was still slightly warm, so he had died shortly before I found him. Poor boy. I knew he wasn't going to make it, his kidneys were failing. I was planning on taking him to the vet tonight to be put down, but he died before I had the chance. I hope he wasn't in a lot of pain, that's all I'm worried about. He died in a sleeping position, so I'm hoping he was asleep when he died. I suspect Marek's Disease. We have a strain that has very unique symptoms (confirmed by a vet), so I'm taking his body for necropsy tomorrow. But poor baby. I wish I had taken him to the vet when he first started feeling sick.
