I went out to check the chickens tonight, and to make sure everyone was in the coop and found one of my roos, Buckshot, dead under the coop. His head was tucked under his wing, like he was sleeping - he was just 21 weeks old. I was around all day and he seemed normal. I have thought that he had an eyesight problem- he was always slow to find stuff and do things- last one out of the coop, last one in, last one to find the treats, etc. Maybe he was just not meant to be with me for long, but he was such a sweet boy. Any ideas what might have happened? Heart attack? Just not a strong chicken to start with?
