on my tractors, the coop from the floor height is 4 feet tall to the center of the pitch. The run is a rectangle built 4 feet wide 8 feet long and 2 feet tall. This is because the 2 foot wire makes the job of building them easier. I like the triangle design for the coop because it sheds water so much better and is easier to build LOL.
This is an 8x8 with a 4x8 coop on it that I started on yesterday. I built the coop on top today, and built the framing for the run yesterday. By the time I get home I only have about 2 hours to work on them but I hope to get the wire on tomorrow and finish the doors. These coops are economical and easy to build, and there are many designs. A friend of mine turned me on to this design and I love it because its easy to build and its very functional. I also like the fact that the chickens can get shade from the sun and still eat grass. I am starting to put the feed in the coop where I have been just throwing it on the ground and letting them peck and scratch.
