I walked to the coop this morning to let the chickens out, and one of my cornish crosses was outside dead the only thing left was her legs

. The rest of the cornish crosses were inside the coop last night when i shut them in so i thought she was there, why didnt she follow the rest? Why didnt the predator eat the legs?

Sometimes one will just stay out, no rhyme or reason. It happens.

As for the legs, would you eat them? They lack meat. And they're covered in tough, scaly skin. There's no point in eating them.

I have had coons leave the same evidence...I used the legs as bait and caught him the very next night. You had better get a trap set asap!

it didnt just leave the scaly part it left the whole leg

In that case he was full.

Just be glad he actually ate any of it. The really frustrating predators are the ones who kill for sport. Not only do they waste perfectly good chickens, they kill more birds at a time and leave them for you to clean up.
