We've had them for about 7 months. They're all about 2 yrs old or so. This one in particular only had one wing. My friend that I bought them from said she was attacked by a dog when she was little and lost her wing. When we got them, I made her a ramp for everything...she didn't use them and kept sleeping on the floor. So I built her own nesting box. Took her a couple of days to get used to it, but finally started sleeping in there.

She's never laid an egg for me, but that didn't matter.

Came home today and she was under the ramp to get into the coop. Unfortunately I could tell she had been gone a while. I looked her over real good, but couldn't find anything wrong with her. I was mainly looking for wounds and what not...didn't know what else to look for. She was fine this morning!

With that said though, how does this affect the rest of my layers? I don't know if there's something going around or what. Should I throw away the eggs from today and watch them?

Thank you for the help!

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a similar event today but to me it seems like an individual thing, not a communicable disease issue. At least I hope so..
