I'm so sorry.
May I suggest something? Know your enemy. I live where there are a lot of predators and some kill differently than others. In order to keep the rest of your flock safe, you should know what got your baby. Usually, hawks won't decapitate...raccoons and possums will.
Predators like bobcats, fox and coyotes take the entire bird. There are others to know about...so do a search so you know what you're dealing with. Once they know where to find food, they may be back. Your best bet is to know their habits.

First thing you learn when you get chickens is everything eats them (which is why mine are contained) I carry fresh garden dirt out to their run in buckets then add fresh dried leaves over top .It entertains them.
