lost my favorite

i lost my favorite hen yesterday and founf her dead this morning. she was old but i dont think that died of old age

I'm very sorry for your loss. I understand how much it hurts to lose your favorite. In time, remember all the good, and all her fun antics that made you love her so.

So sorry.............. why is it always the favorites? If I have a mean ol' chicken they seem to live forever..... my sweetest ones are cut short....

aww, I'm sorry!
We lost a chicken today as well, Ming Ming. It was my husband's favorite(I say "it" because we were unsure of the gender). Our situation was a little different, we re-homed it to a friend who doesn't mind keeping roos(we can't). but after a couple of weeks, our friend said he really thought it was a hen and was going to bring her back. They'd introduced her to a flock of 5 RIRs three days ago, and found Ming Ming dead and pecked apart this morning. we'd kinda gotten used to her not being around, but it's still sad.

I lost my favorite last week, found her dead on the coop floor

I still miss her terribly. I don't know why she died, but maybe it's a good thing cause I would feel pretty guilty if it was something I could have cured. I hope you feel better and it will be pretty quiet around the coop without your favorite. But, it does get better, and just give extra loves to all your others.
