Lost my first chick ever today

Received 6 chicks from My Pet Chickens about 4 hrs ago. My Golden Laced Wyandotte looked pretty bad after 2 hrs. I inspected her closely and found she had no down on her lower abdom intestine area, just a bulge that looked fluidy. She died about an hour ago. Has anyone seen this before?

I thought I had heard something about some chicks with soft abdomens but I don't know about it. Maybe ask in the pest/diseases forum?

Its hard to say with out seeing your chick, maybe it is a lower abdominal wall hernia, the intestines are right under the skin with no wall muscle I've seen that before in chicks, depending on the size of the hernia they rarely live. I'm sorry for your loss, maybe others might have some ideas

Yes, i believe it was a hernia, you couls see them right under the bulging skin. Thanks all for your responses.
