Lost my first chick today.

I came home from from work today and my 5 day old black Sumatra chick was dead in the brooder. This is my fourth time brooding chicks and it’s the first one I’ve lost. The others still seem happy and hearty. Not sure what happened? She was tiny and seemed a little frail compared to the other ones but was eating and drinking. I’m bummed.

Sorry to hear about your chick. I lost my first chick this year as well. I never lost one before either. I know how awful that feels. I'm so sorry. Hugs. I guess it happens sometimes if they are weak. God bless
