lost my first chicken today

its so sad. I cant beleive it.
Its my first to die, im not sure what happened, yesterday she was fine, then she started to fall over, was finding it breath, and i found her dead this morning!!!
im worried now the rest of my flock will get it. I have 2 other rir in the same coop. I got 4 plymouth rocks that are 12 weeks but they are sleeping in the shed (cos DH needs to build me another coop).

could they have infected my rir, what should i do now

I'm sorry for your loss.
Did your hen have any other symptoms before she died?
I lost one hen to a probable heart attack. She was fine and then five minutes later she was on the ground thrashing around. She died fairly quickly.

So sorry for your loss...

I had one I think had a heart attack. I went out and gave the birds some
treats and everyone was fine. I went out about an hour later and found one dead. She was very active an hour before when I gave them some treats.

thanks for that, she was fine, eating and drinking ok, i kinda hope it was a heart attack, so the rest wont get sick
