Lost My first Hen

I need help. Found a hen on a nest(dead) and the face and body partially eaten. Mainly surface. No blood, which means she had been dead long enough for the blood to solidify before it was eaten. The chickens are we're in the barn all day since it was raining. Could one of the other chickens have killed har?

sorry to hear about your hen! I don't know where you are or what predators you have so I can't really comment - if it was where I am then I would suspect a natural cause of death and that a rat had got at her afterwards, given that you say it looked like she had been dead a while before whatever it was had a go at her.
