It got too cold last night and I lost one little girl. Now another one is staying constantly fluffed up like she can't get warm even though it was actually in the 60s today. I brought her inside and have her in the garage so hopefully she can warm up tonight and recover OK. She's 10 weeks old and I guess it got down to about 25 degrees last night when the one baby froze.
Does anyone know if she will recover?

I hope she make a full recovery

I know you said she was 10 weeks but did you put a light on her. Give her some extra egg yolk for additional protein and some electrolytes in her water to perk her up. How many did you have outside. when its that cold they need s bunch to stay warm so they can cuddle.

Wow, I don't know. I've never had that young of chickens in that cold of weather. Wish I could answer your question, but the best I can say is to keep us posted. I'm so sorry that you lost one, and hope the other does okay.

The one I brought inside is doing OK. She stays under the light all the time and is puffed up like she can't quite get warm though. The rest of the babies seem to be fine.
There were six babies that stuck together and huddled up. They refuse to go in the coop at night because that's where the big girls sleep and they're not quite accepted into the clan yet since they're so young. They don't get picked on, they just don't hang out together and sleep together.
We have a dog house there for them to sleep in, which they did for a while but they suddenly stopped and I'm not sure why. I can't seem to get them back into the doghouse now either.
