I do totally understand how you feel, and the dogs will just have to be patient! It's time to mourn the loss, and plan how to secure that coop a little more maybe? Enjoy your new arrivals when they come.

Yeah, this Saturday is definitely Fortification Day! I'll try to take some pictures if I remember to and post them in the coop construction forum.

Here is a picture of my original flock together, about two months old here I think. Short Round is the buff silkie towards the back. The others are (from left to right) Yin, Mayflower, Wonton, and Gobi.

And just for a pick-me-up, this is Solo, one of ten orphaned barn swallow chicks I was raising at the same time as I was raising my flock. He was the last one to be released.
