Well, I lost my little BB Red hen, Brownie on the 14th of April. The egg laying finally got to her. Plus the darn roosters wouldn't leave her alone. She probably would have made it through it if the roosters wouldn't have been after her while she was in that misery. She did look like she was getting skinny but I weighed her and she was 1lb 5.0 oz. She was the one chicken I told all of you about that helped Peep, Black tailed White Japanese rooster, and then had babies in the house. She was a really sweet hen. Since this d**** virus came around I haven't been able to go to the store and get the bread and veg to make up the feed that I think might have helped her lay better and smaller eggs. I also lost another hen, Peppe but I think she had something wrong in her brain from the moment she was born. She was, should I say, Peppe running around with like her head was off. LOL. She was really pretty too. She was a mix. She looked like a silvr sebright, but the penciling was better looking. Beautiful. But Brownie was a very special hen. I buried her next to Peep. I will miss her very much. I never thought I would have this much heartbreak over chickens. Now I only have 27. I tell myself I don't want anymore after these die. I really don't want any animal after these die. It is too hard when I lose them. either by death or giving them away. I don't have pics of her cause my phone broke. I had some on my other computer, but it crashed too so I lost all of them and the videos on that. I will try to scan and put some pics of her on here if I can later. R.I.P. Brownie 6/14/16- 4/14/2020 and Peppe 3/10/2019-4/03/2020.

She stayed in our house for about a year and a half, then when Peep died, we put her in the chicken house. Well, we would put her down on the ground when we would let the chickens out to chase bugs about an hour before bed so the others could get use to her again. She went up in the ranks pretty fast. Eventually we were able to put her in there with them. She was 3 in command of the hens. She was one of the 4 that we purchased the first time in 2016. We only have 3 originals now. Anyway, She got to be a chicken for 2 years. She couldn't see well, so I had a special bowl for her in their house. When all the other chickens would go out into the pen for food, she would stay in so I could put her up on the shelf and feed her bread and moist feed. She loved being pampered. She still had problem with the egg thing, but not as bad because she could run around but we had 6 moths of winter and after it got a little warm, we still couldn't let them out because our land is a swamp and we have a problem with water moccasins. So we had to mow water grass and wait for the water to dry up. They have only got to get out once since spring came. Plus a family of hawks decided to hang around. I have been trying to scare them off. So, Brownie couldn't get any run time in for at least 9 months. What I am trying to say though is she died being happy and as a chicken. I think the others were mourning her too cause when I was burying her by Peep, all of them started cackling and making those weird sounds they make sometimes. Something tried to dig her up a couple of nights ago, so I put a big sandstone on top and planted flowers. She was a real sweetie. R.I.P. Brownie
