We have a yard that we are temporarily keeping our chickens prior to moving them to their permanent yard. They are buff orpingtons and around 12 weeks of age. We hadn't up until last weekend lost any of the chickens. We have eletric fence around the perimeter and have seen it deter a large snake. We have had the chickens in there for 8 weeks and no problem. Then we look and Chester, our friendly male, is just gone. There is no sign of a struggle, no feathers, no holes in the fence - nothing. Any thoughts on what could have gotten to him.
