Hi

We had to give one of our peacocks away to our neighbour up the road , we live next to fields

Our neighbour kept him in over night but he got out and now we can’t find him ... will he try and find his way home ? We went to look for him but couldn’t see him

Any help would be appreciated, we call him etc but nothing

HI yeah we have 6 boys and 1 girl , he was the baby 2 years ago the 2 big boys don’t bother with him and prob gonna start fighting with him as they go for each other now it’s mating season , we have 4 babies all who are boys and the Mum , she isn’t interested in him anymore either as she has her new ones from last year. So our neighbour along the road who has a farm said she would take him as he was still young .

They kept him in to ger use to his new place but after day 2 he flew away

We have went out in car and by foot to look for him
Called - we do a whistle to them and took food but nothing

A lot of open fields and trees but we are worried he will get lost

The big boys are always making their noise so I hope that it will guide him back but should it take a day and night to get bsvk ? It’s not too far but a windy old back road

My mum is upset as now she wished she hadn’t let him go to a new home
:(

My grandma had a yearling pair get away from her a few years ago. We hoped they were close by and we could find them as we had other peafowl in the yard. We found them 4 months later when a neighbor 5 miles away phoned to see if we were missing any peacocks. The pair made it to their farm and were roosting in the spruce trees and eating cat food. The neighbor built a special trap and caught them for us as he wasn’t too fond of the poop they were leaving on his sidewalk.

I was amazed to get them back after that long, they are tough birds. I sure hope you find your boy.
